About the Polyurea Applicator Spray Course

This course identifies the many elements involved in the successful set up and operation of polyurea spray equipment and developed as a hands-on course covering all phases of hot spray polyurea application. It also gives attendees an in-depth analysis of commercially available equipment designs and necessary hardware components to ensure successful operation and spray application of polyureas. "It is the best applicator training class that I have attended in the 30 years I've been in the restoration business," said course attendee, Pat Lauro; Lesco Restorations, Inc.; of Spartanburg, S.C.

Who should attend?
- Contractors
- Polyurea system suppliers
- Engineers

Our spray course is taught by two of the most respected leaders in the polyurea industry, Dudley Primeaux II and Doug Commette. Primeaux and Commette give you hands-on, applied instruction that can help you become a leader in the polyurea industry. "The instructors are very knowledgeable and thorough, and the hands-on portion replicates real-world conditions, rather than laboratory conditions," Lauro added.

The course duration is four full days, runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and includes light breakfasts every morning and lunches every afternoon.
We limit the class to 25 people so everyone may operate the equipment and participate in the open discussions. You learn from the instructors and from each other.

Covered in the course
- Surface preparation
- Equipment setup
- Spraying techniques
- Troubleshooting
- Final evaluation and testing

History of the PDA Applicator Spray Course
During the planning stages of the course's curriculum and associated materials, the developers decided that the industry lacked a source of complete instruction that went beyond simple equipment training. The result was this new course that provides answers to questions and issues encountered in the field, according to Rob Loomis, group leader of Willamette Valley Co. and chairman of the PDA Education Committee, who played a role in the design of the class. "Many industry companies have training programs that may or may not be sufficient for their employees' needs," he said. "This class helps relieve that burden, ensuring that attendees receive a complete education in all areas of polyurea spray application."

John Becker, president of Creative Material Technologies, Ltd., and class participant, agreed that the topics covered went beyond any training class he's attended. "I've written training courses for my company, so I had a unique perspective," he said. "What works in the lab, or was designed to, may not work in the field. PDA's class bridges the gaps. The experience was invaluable. I would highly recommend it to a novice or an expert, not only for the level of experience of the instructors, but because the class brought together professionals from different parts of the industry and that interaction was profitable for the overall learning experience."

PDA has continued offering this innovative new class around the country. "This is a significant advancement for our organization and our industry," said Dudley Primeaux, owner of Primeaux Associates, LLC, and course instructor. "This class is the first of its kind to cover spray-applied polyureas so completely."
