This project was done for the local jail. Due to a confidentiality agreement, I cannot say where, just Washington State. The customer came to us wanting to provide a non-skid surface for the bathroom and shower facilities (8), and two booking areas that would be easy to maintain, sanitary and keep the concrete from further deterioration. In the booking areas, the customer wanted a surface that they could hose down easily. The surface was painted with a one-part epoxy paint, previously over smooth concrete.

In order to prep the showers and other common areas, we had to use hand-held grinders to remove the majority of the existing coating. We primed the areas with an epoxy primer and then sprayed with a 100% polyurethane coating. The overall project was completed in 9 days. Approximately 225 man hours went into the project. A total of 1,025 square feet was sprayed.
