Polyurethane, Polyurea and hybrid coatings material storage of A isocyanate and B RES polyol

March 22, 2008

Suggested Storage Steps:

Store the drums on pallets off the concrete floor. The best way is on a polyethylene spill pallet which will catch small spills. Store the material inside at 60° to 110° F. Do not store material outside exposed to weather. Keep material away from extreme heat. If you have no warm area to store material inside, the next best way to keep material warm in cold weather is to use full coverage insulated heated drum blankets with adjustable thermostat controls. Cover the top of the drums with insulation drum covers to prevent heat loss. These heated drum blankets will keep the material warm and uniform. By using this method you can control the temperature of your material year round during storage and in the process of spraying.

Note: Many applicators use band heaters which cause hot spots or high heat in isolated areas. If you chose to use band heaters you must agitate the material to get uniform heated material.
